Bronx Science Symposium
Our lab attended the Bronx Science Symposium, where Lyla and Ormary presented their work to students, researchers, and other visitors. This was a wonderful opportunity to share our research, connect with others, and celebrate the progress of our team.
Lyla presented a detailed morpho-anatomical development of the flowers of Chloranthus. On her poster, Lyla highlighted all the unknowns behind the unique morphology of this species (using Scanning Electron Microscopy) and anatomy (through microtome sections and light microscopy). This project has set a solid ground for further developmental studies, as it identifies landmark stages.
Ormary presented her newest results on the ovule developmental network in Wollemia. With new and exciting expression patterns, through in situ hybridization, of key genes such as: BEL, ANT, SPL… She will continue to characterize the evolutionary changes in the canonical ovule developmental network.
